The Brides Farwell keeps me coming back

The Bride's Farewell by Meg Roeoff takes place in the 1850's when a young girl named Pell runs away from home in search for something other than the normality of being a house wife. Pell, her mute step-brother Bean, and faithful pony Jack ride off together in search for freedom from the burdening stereotypes society has placed on them. When the three get separated from one another, Pell is tossed into a world-wind of adventures where she encounters gypsies, poachers, and the horrors that the world can hold for a young girl living on her own. With superb character development, and an assortment of sub-characters that leave you puzzled by the mystery's they might hold. The Brides Farewell is a great read for anyone wanting to take a trip into the past and watching an impressively courageous young girl struggle to find herself in a world that wants nothing to do with her. This is not your typical coming of age story, Pell is constantly pushing the limits and doing everything she can to save herself and her family. Meg Roeoff doesn't just give the reader a great story but also gives you a terrific spectrum of detail about the jobs that were available in that time and how they where done.
